From March 25-27,2024,AMEBE organised a training on concentrated poultry feed in Mutimbuzi commune,Rubirizi zone as part of the DSACC-BU project.This project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Climate Action ,Environment,Energy ,Mobility ,Innovation,and Technology of the Republic of Austria .
Fourteen young men and women ,beneficiaries of the project took part in it.The training instilled in them skills to respond to the poultry farmers concerns.The trainer,céléstin Ndagijimana ,told them that during the first few weeks of life,chicks require diet rich in protein and energy to support rapid growth and development .Participants in that training session,learned all ingredients and their nutritional values needed to feed chicken according to their age and the objective for farming them(egg and meat production ) .Ndagijimana took enough time to develop different formulas to be used to make healthy food for chicken by taking into consideration their age.
Amid the training ,participants got an opportunity to interact with a delegation from Caritas Austria and AMEBE , Jean Berchmans Siboniyo,the National coordinator of AMEBE insisted on the importance of the training, as they willl produce and sell feed poulrty in their cooperative .Ambrose Osakwe,the technical advisor of Caritas Austria mentionned that they are among few people who receive such training .He added that the project will be a key for them to becoming entrepreneurs .Georg Gingler ,the coordinator of the project in Burundi from Caritas Austria encouraged the participants to go ahead working sucessfully in their project.
The two teams from Caritas Autriche and AMEBE ,had a talk with the trainer , and gave some recommendations about the training .At the end of the training ,participants thanked AMEBE and its partners for having organised the training and promised to implement all skills learned in the training .
