This Tuesday, December 20, 2022, AMEBE (Association of Mentors for Business and Entrepreneurship) welcomed Ms. Melanie Harris Higgins, Ambassador of the United States of America to Burundi, to its regional office in the capital of Ngozi.
The ambassador is warmly welcomed by the staff of AMEBE 
The visit was arranged to present to Ms. Higgins the various achievements of AMEBE. In his welcome speech, Jean Berchmans Siboniyo, founder and legal representative, thanked the Ambassador for her visit before presenting to her the various projects that the association is carrying out in Burundi to fight against poverty and gender-based violence.
Women beneficiaries of AMEBE projects from the provinces of Cankuzo and Ngozi gave their testimonies.
According to them, AMEBE has given them training that has expanded their capacity and capabilities to make their own projects, which has allowed them to become financially independent and has contributed to increasing the quality of life of their household.
For her part, Ms. Higgins praised the achievements of AMEBE, congratulating and encouraging these women for their entrepreneurial behavior towards becoming autonomous.
She recommended them to convince other women who are still dragging their feet to follow in their footsteps and join them in their development.
