From Monday, September 9 to 14, 2024, AMEBE (Association of Mentors for Business and Entrepreneurship) organized a comprehensive training on marketing as part of the DSACC-BU project at the AFRICANA HALL. The project is funded by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Climate Action, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation, and Technology (BMK) and coordinated by Caritas Austria aimed to empower cooperatives with essential marketing skills.
The training started with opening remarks from the AMEBE National Coordinator, who warmly welcomed participants and emphasized the importance of the training. “This is a doorway to success in your respective projects,” the coordinator stated, urging participants to pay close attention to the sessions ahead. The training brought together four cooperatives from Mutimbuzi and Kanyosha communes of Bujumbura Province. The focus of the sessions was on critical marketing skills, including strategies for finding and retaining markets, advertising products effectively, and monitoring marketing trends to remain competitive. A key highlight was the emphasis on the importance of marketing as an integral part of successful business operations. One participant shared his thoughts: “The training opened my mind to see that marketing is an essential element in doing business. The skills I have gained will allow me to be successful not only within the cooperative but also in my own business.” This hands-on training provided participants with actionable knowledge that is expected to contribute to the growth and sustainability of their projects, aligning with the overarching goals of the DSACC-BU project.
By enhancing marketing capabilities, the cooperatives are now better equipped to not only meet the challenges of the market but also to grow and thrive in their respective fields.
