From Monday, September 16, to Friday, September 20, 2024, AMEBE (Association of Mentors for Business and Entrepreneurship) conducted a technical training on ecological charcoal production in Kanyosha. This initiative targeted a cooperative under AMEBE’s supervision as part of the DSACC-BU project, which is funded by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Climate Action, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation, and Technology (BMK) and coordinated by Caritas Austria.
The training was officially opened with remarks by AMEBE’s Programs Director, who welcomed the participants and encouraged them to actively engage in the sessions. He stressed the importance of the training, urging them to take full advantage of the opportunity to gain new skills in ecological charcoal production. During the five-day program, participants received both theoretical and practical training on the step-by-step process of producing ecological charcoal using solid waste materials found in their local environment. The training covered all aspects of the production process, from the collection of solid waste to carbonizing the materials, grinding them into fine dust, and ultimately producing high-quality ecological charcoal. By the end of the training, participants had successfully produced a significant quantity of ecological charcoal.
What they had once considered a distant goal became a tangible reality, thanks to the hands-on experience and guidance provided throughout the week.
The cooperative members expressed their appreciation for the valuable skills they had acquired and thanked AMEBE and his partners for the opportunity. This training not only equipped them with new knowledge but also empowered them to contribute to environmental sustainability through innovative waste management practices.
